Terms of Service

Welcome to SociaFly! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SociaFly mobile application and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use SociaFly.

1. Your Account

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use SociaFly. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will terminate that account immediately.
  • Account Creation: You must provide accurate information when creating an account. We use third-party services (Google Firebase) to manage authentication, including your email and password credentials.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Usernames: Usernames must not be offensive, impersonate others, or violate intellectual property rights. We reserve the right to reclaim or change usernames at our discretion.

2. User-Generated Content (UGC)

SociaFly allows you to create profiles, set statuses, post in community pages, host user events, and share media.

  • Ownership: You retain ownership of the content you post. However, by posting content, you grant SociaFly a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, and distribute your content to operate the Service.
  • Prohibited Content: You may not post content that is:
    • Illegal, harmful, violent, or sexually explicit.
    • Harassing, bullying, or abusive toward other users.
    • Infringing on another person's intellectual property or privacy rights.
    • Spam or unauthorized commercial advertising.
  • Media Hosting: Images (up to 4MB) and videos (up to 25MB) are hosted on third-party infrastructure (Firebase Storage). We may compress or modify media for technical delivery.
  • Public Content: Community posts, comments, votes, user events, and your profile information (including your friends list and status) are visible to other users according to the app’s design.

3. Messaging and Social Features

  • Direct Messages (DMs) & Requests: You can send message requests and DMs to other users. While DMs are private between participants, they are stored on our servers via Firebase. We do not proactively read private messages, but we reserve the right to access and review message content if it is reported for abuse, for troubleshooting, or to comply with legal obligations.
  • Friends: You may send, accept, or decline friend requests. Unfriending is a mutual action that removes the connection for both users.
  • Groups: Group chats and metadata are visible to group members. We reserve the right to remove groups that violate these Terms.

4. Safety, Blocking, and Reporting

We prioritize user safety and provide tools to manage your experience.

  • Blocking: You can block other users. Blocking prevents the blocked user from messaging you, sending friend requests, and viewing certain content. We store block relationships to enforce these restrictions.
  • Reporting: If you encounter behavior or content that violates these Terms, you can use our in-app reporting tool. Reports are strictly private and reviewed by our moderation team.
  • Moderation & Enforcement: We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to monitor the app. We may remove content, limit features, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice.

5. Third-Party Infrastructure

SociaFly is built using Google Firebase services (including Authentication, Firestore, Storage, and Cloud Messaging). By using SociaFly, you acknowledge that your data is processed and stored on Google's infrastructure according to our Privacy Policy.

6. Push Notifications

We may send you in-app or push notifications regarding friend requests, messages, group invites, and account activity. You can manage or disable push notifications at any time through your device's operating system settings.

7. Account Deletion and Data Retention

  • Deletion: You may request to delete your account at any time through the app settings.
  • Data Retention: Upon account deletion, we will delete your profile data and user content stored in your account, including direct messages, posts, and comments, from our active databases. We may retain limited records where required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or to enforce these Terms.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

  • “As Is” Service: SociaFly is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, secure, or operate without interruptions.
  • Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, SociaFly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, interactions with other users, or loss of data.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notice or by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. Continued use of SociaFly after updates constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
